As a part of Walki’s social responsibility program the UN Champion of the Earth, Leyla Acaroglu, has run dynamic and exciting circular classroom co-creation events with teachers, students and other influencers in Helsinki, Finland. The aim the program is to create a series of creative content for Finnish upper secondary schools on the circular economy. The outcome of the latest workshop on June 12th 2018 will be a part of a set of educational materials to be launched in autumn 2018.
The primary goal of the corporate responsibility program of Walki is to create high quality learning material on the circular economy.Leila Acaroglu, PHD in sociology and renowned specialist in the field, was engaged as a specialist for the project. She is well known for her engaging teaching methods. A systemic thinking model is at the centre of her teaching philosophy - the belief that everything we do has an impact on everything. This also means, that the circular economy-field crosses traditional boundaries between teaching subjects.
“Understanding the circular economy is something that affects us all, whether we are doctors, shoemakers or entrepreneurs. It is motivating to be able to acts as a catalyst for change, it is only a matter of knowing how the mechanism works", Layla says.
