Walki Fibre Pro EVO Seal - ideal for secondary papaer-based packaging

Printed sealing-frame. Designed to Recycle.

Keeps coating to a minimum for superior recyclability

    • Walki®Fibre Pro combines high mechanical strength with precise sealing performance. The front side features water-based flexo printing for outstanding visual appeal, while the reverse side is printed with a frame of sealable varnish, only where sealing is needed. This design reduces coating to an absolute minimum and improves recyclability. The result is a clean, fibre-based mono-material suitable for all standard high-speed packaging lines.

      Key Characteristics
    • Printed packaging engineered for recycling
    • Register-printed heat-seal coating only at sealing areas
    • High-strength base papers for reliable mechanical performance
    • Natural matt touch and premium brand appearance
    • Compatible with thin, thick, bleached or brown base papers
  • Walki®Fibre Pro supports easy compliance with the upcoming PPWR framework. With more than 95% paper content and minimal non-fibre components, the material is designed for recycling according to industry guidelines such as 4evergreen. Its mono-material structure enables a clear pathway to future Recycling Class A and reduces exposure to future plastic taxes and EPR fees.

  • Suitable for a wide range of secondary packaging uses, including bundled snacks, home care refills and industrial goods. Delivers strong seals, stable runnability and premium printability on existing high-speed lines.

    Common applications:

    • Secondary packaging for bundled food items (cookies, pancakes, cereal bars)
    • Dust and grip protection for food and non-food goods
    • Home and personal care items
    • Industrial products requiring fibre-based wrapping
    • VFFS/HFFS pouches and four-side sealed sachets
    • Suitable as a primary packaging solution for food products with low barrier requirements, such as dry pasta, breadcrumbs and flour.

Walki Experts

In this Walki®Experts feature, Anna Barszcz, Technical Service and Development Manager, breaks down how the precisely registered sealing frame transforms paper into a high-performance heat-sealable solution. She explains how the reduced sealing medium, fibre purity and excellent runnability set Walki®Fibre Pro apart, helping brand owners switch from plastic to paper without compromising speed, quality or recyclability.

What Makes Walki®Fibre Pro Different

Walki®Fibre Pro stands out through its precision-printed sealing frame, which applies the sealing medium only where it is needed and keeps the rest of the surface pure fibre. This targeted approach dramatically improves recyclability, while high mechanical strength, water-based printability and excellent high-speed runnability make it a reliable and visually appealing choice for modern flow-pack applications.

Seal-only-where-needed technology

Sustainability Focus

Walki®Fibre Pro is engineered for circularity. By limiting sealing medium usage to the exact seam areas, the fibre yield during recycling remains exceptionally high. The result is a solution typically made from more than 95 percent paper -reducing plastic use, minimising environmental impact and supporting brand owners in reducing EPR fees and CO₂ footprint.

Technology & Innovation Behind

Technical Competence Centres

Our in-house dispersion coating development at Walki’s Technical Competence Centres in Finland, Germany and Poland is redefining how barrier packaging performs. We’ve adapted materials used in papermaking to build a next-generation barrier portfolio. Walki®Fibre Pro, designed with recyclability from the start.

Pioneering the future of fibre-based barrier production

At Walki, we’ve brought our next-generation production line to life. Designed entirely in-house and built to set new standards in sustainable barrier materials.

This state-of-the-art line integrates dispersion technologies, enabling us to produce high-barrier fibre-based materials with a low carbon footprint, without compromising recyclability. It’s a strategic expansion of our technology base, ensuring that our fibre-based solutions meet even the strictest future regulatory requirements.

The line responds to the fast-growing demand for recyclable, fibre-based alternatives. It marks a significant step forward in our ambition to deliver high-performance materials that support a circular economy.

The sealable varnish is applied only on the sealing seams, keeping the rest of the surface uncoated. This design maximises fibre yield and enables easy recycling in the established paper stream.

Yes. The material seals at low temperatures, ensuring high packing speeds on both VFFS and HFFS equipment without performance loss.

No. Water-based inks and a limited coating area ensure clean recyclability that aligns with 4evergreen guidelines and PPWR expectations.

It is ideal for secondary packaging, dust protection, grip protection and multi-pack bundling across food, non-food and industrial categories.

Secondary packaging typically does not require barrier properties. Fibre-based alternatives offer excellent strength, visual appeal, easier recycling, and reduced plastic use – making them the preferred choice under new regulations.
